Haverfordwest County end Mark Jones loan spell early

Mark Jones will return to Briton Ferry Llansawel after having his loan spell at Haverfordwest County ended prematurely.

The 31-year-old forward has been on loan at the Bridge Meadow Stadium since October, making seven appearances.

However Jones, who was the top scorer in the 2019/20 Cymru South, failed to register a goal during his time with the West Wales outfit.

He made his last appearance for Wayne Jones’ side yesterday in a 4-1 defeat to the Cefn Druids, which saw them drop out of the top six.

A club statement from Haverfordwest County said: “Mark Jones’ loan agreement has been terminated early by mutual consent, and will return to Briton Ferry ahead of the resumption of their season. The club would like to thank Mark for his efforts during his time with the club, and wish him the best going forwards.”

He now returns to Briton Ferry, where they will begin their truncated season in January following Sports Wales’ decision to grant the Cymru South ‘elite‘ status.
