Cefn Druids make audacious approach for Gabriel Agbonlahor

Cefn Druids have made an audacious attempt to bring in former Aston Villa and England forward Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The 34-year-old last played in 2018 for Aston Villa, but retired in 2019 at the age of 32 following 14 seasons at Villa Park.

Agbonlahor made over 400 appearances for the Villains, scoring more than 80 times for the Midlands club.

Three-time England international Agbonlahor tweeted: “Been told to come out of retirement should I for a couple years for a bit of fun? I’d sign anywhere for zero wages just for love of game let me know.”

In response to his come-get-me-plea, Cefn Druids chairman Des Williams issued a response and made an ambitious approach.

“Try Cefn Druids and we’ll make a donation every week to a charity of your choice,” responded Williams to the forward.
