Josh Tibbetts likely to miss the remainder of the season for Caernarfon

Caernarfon Town have been dealt a blow after goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts after it was deemed likely that he would miss the rest of the season.

Tibbetts was stretchered off with an injury in the Canaries 6-1 defeat to Connah’s Quay on Tuesday evening with Tyler French taking his spot.

The 22-year-old had missed just two matches this season for Caernarfon and kept three clean sheets since his summer move from Bala Town.

He will undergo a scan to assess the severity of the injury however the goalkeeper is consigned to his season being over.

Taking to social media to announce the news, Tibbetts said: “A bit of a c*** night to put it bluntly. It looks like my season is over with unfortunately but will have to see what the scans say.

“I would like to say thank you to both Rhys Jones and the Connah’s Quay Nomads physio for looking after me. I’m gutted.

He added: “I want to thank you for all the messages and support. I will be back stronger than before and I’m sure the lads will achieve the goal and get us Cofis into Europe.”

Likely to replace Tibbetts is goalkeeper Tyler French, however Huw Griffiths may need to recruit a second goalkeeper as cover.

The 24-year-old has made three appearances this season since moving from CPD Porthmadog.

French also has playing experience with Bala Town, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Holywell Town and Llangefni.

Caernarfon have seven fixtures remaining in Phase Two and are already guaranteed a play-off match after finishing in the top six and securing the UEFA Licence.
