Connah’s Quay will enter the final day of the Cymru Premier in pole position after defeating ten-man Caernarfon Town 4-0 at Deeside Stadium.
The Deeside club knew they had to win if they were to retain top spot in the penultimate game after a 3-0 win for The New Saints earlier.
Callum Morris scored a second-half brace after Jamie Insall opened the scoring. Aron Williams scored a fortuitous goal to make for a perfect afternoon for Andy Morrison’s men.
Lewis Brass, who was a part of the Nomads side which won the title last season was dismissed in the second-half.
The last time the destination of the championship had to be decided was in 2011/12 when TNS defeated Bangor City 5-0 at Park Hall.
