Wales international Jonny Williams has completed a surprise move to League Two side Swindon Town following his departure from Cardiff City.
Williams joins the Robins having made nine appearances for Cardiff in the Championship last season after joining from League One Charlton Athletic in January.
Speaking to Swindon’s website about the singing, Director of Football Ben Chorley said: “Jonny Williams needs no introduction.
“He is a player that has played on the very highest international stage, we’ve been in contact with Jonny for weeks and monitoring his situation. Ben (Garner) has a relationship with that spans over 15 years.
“He really fits into our style of play with his energy, ball manipulation and all-round ability to change games.
“Speaking to him and his partner over the last few days has been a pleasure, they are very humble and very much the type of people we as a football club should be honoured to have.
“We wish Jonny every success with us as we continue to plan and build for the future of this Football Club.”
Williams will add international experience to Ben Garner’s side as they look to regain promotion to League One at the first attempt.
The 27-year-old has won 28 caps for Wales, and was a part of the squad for this summers Euro 2020 championships.
He scored his only international goal to date in October 2020 to clinch a 1-0 victory over Bulgaria in the Nations League.
Swindon Town are currently in a rebuilding period following theie recent takeover by Australian businessman Clem Morfuni.
