Bangor City host Holyhead Hotspur at Nantporth in the Cymru North this evening.
The Citizens, Bangor City FC, welcome local rivals Holyhead Hotspur to Nantporth Stadium this evening for what promises to be a fiery contest between the two sides.
Sitting in 7th place following a 4-2 defeat to league leaders Guilsfield FC, Hugo Colace’s Bangor City side will be looking to make amends and climb back up the table. For Holyhead Hotspur, manager Darren Garmey and his men will be heading into the fixture with the hope of avenging their Nathaniel Cup 5-0 defeat to the Citizens last month.
The visitors arrive at Nantporth having won their last two matches, a 1-0 victory over Rhos Aelwydd in the Welsh Cup 3rd Round and a 2-0 win over bottom of the table Llangefni Town. In recent weeks their opponents tonight, Bangor City, have been ravished by injuries and suspensions, welcome news to Garmey’s men. However, despite a positive result in their last two encounters and the Gwynedd sides last win coming two weeks ago, the Hotspur face a hungry Bangor City side looking to right their wrongs.
Following on from their 4-2 defeat to Guilsfield FC, the Citizens will be looking to make amends during this evenings contest and return to winning ways. With several key players ruled out of tonights clash, due to either suspension or injury, Hugo Colace will be expecting some young talents to step up to the challenge this evening.
The Citizens enter tonights encounter without in-form forward Dante Isla, who has netted five goals in all competitions. A strong and talismanic figure up top, Bangor City will most definitely miss their goalscoring target man in-front of goal. At the back, Colace’s faces another headache with robust and versatile central defender Juan Torres out due to suspension, like his teammate Isla.
Goalkeeper Scott Reed was unfortunately for home side another name to add to their injury list, alongside Gethin Williams, Agustin Zicarelli, and Eridion Dida. The Welsh shot-stopper had found himself slotting nicely into Colace’s side with some fantastic performances, however an injury against Guilsfield rules him out for the foreseeable future.
Nonetheless, tonight’s clash promises to be an entertaining occasion, one with both sides fired up to secure a win. Who will come out on top? Join us at 19:30 for LIVE updates and follow us as the action unfolds.
