Sam Jones has left Cambrian & Clydach Vale and joined Cardiff Met as he makes another go of playing in the Cymru Premier.
The 23-year-old is the Archers’ first signing of the January transfer window and is signed a day after they beat Barry Town United in the league.
Across three competitions, Jones has scored 12 goals and earned two assists in 23 appearances for the Sky Blues this season.
After the move was announced, Jones commented on his move by saying: “New year, new challenge. Looking forward to getting started.”
Jones had previously had a stint with Barry Town United back in the 2017/18 season, making 11 appearances for the Linnets.
The tricky winger has also come up against Met before and played against them in the Nathaniel MG Cup final back in 2019.
As Jones had already played for Cambrian in the earlier rounds of this season’s competition he is cup-tied for their final against Connah’s Quay on February 6.
He will link up with a familiar face at Cyncoed Campus with former Cambrian teammate Joe Evans on their books.
As well as an incoming, there has also been a departure with club have allowed Dan Warre to return to Chippenham Town.
Warre was a summer signing and made 17 appearances but they were mainly off the bench. The 19-year-old scored two goals during his time at the club, a brace against Aberystwyth Town.
