Prestatyn Town part company with manager Chris Jones

Prestatyn Town have today parted company with first team manager Chris Jones. The club released a statement on social media after their poor start to the new season. Their latest result a 3-1 away defeat to Guilsfield FC on Saturday afternoon.

The decision comes just 17 months after Jones first took charge of the club in May 2022.

The clubs statement read

“Today, the club have relieved Chris Jones of his duties as Manager.

Chairman Jamie Welsh would like to place on record his thanks to Chris for all his hard work and wish him the best for the future.”

“We would also like to say thank you and good luck to Graeme, Marc and Gary for their efforts in the coaching team.”

Speaking on twitter the former manager said

“Disappointed with the decision but we haven’t had the start we hoped for after finishing top 6 last season. Grateful for all the support iv had from some amazing people behind the scenes and supporters who’ve followed the club for decades. Memories to last a lifetime.”

No interim replacement has been announced by the club with their next fixture midweeks Nathaniel MG Quarter-Final clash against Cymru Premier outfit Colwyn Bay.
