Colwyn Bay and Pontypridd United meet at the Four Crosses Construction Arena in the Cymru Premier on Saturday afternoon.

The bottom two go head to head in a crucial six-pointer at Llanelian Road. A win for Colwyn Bay would take them off of bottom spot and above Ponty.

Pontypridd are behind Aberystwyth by two points and albeit until Aber kick off later against Penybont, they would move above them and out of the relegation zone.

It’s two wins for Ponty and one for Colwyn Bay in the three meetings this season. Bay won 3-0 in November thanks to goals from Akpan, McCready and Jamie Cuming.

Ponty got revenge in January as Clayton Green scored a brace in a 3-2 win in which Luke Cummings scored a 95th-minute winner.

Gavin Allen’s side then inflicted a 4-0 defeat on Bay in February. Kieran Lewis, Owen Pritchard, Ben Margetson and Luke Gullick were all on target.

Earlier in the week, Pontypridd failed their Tier One Licence application. They have 10 days to submit an appeal and earn it as regardless of whether they finish in the bottom two or not they could be relegated.

A statement from the club read: “Pontypridd United Football Club are currently reviewing positive next steps regarding our Tier 1 application.

Updates will follow in due course.”

When does Colwyn Bay v Pontypridd United kick-off?

It’s the usual kick-off time of 2.30 pm.
