Caersws, Airbus and Trethomas Bluebirds extend winning records as Goytre United dominate in 5-1 win

In another action packed weekend of Cymru League football Caersws, Airbus and Trethomas Bluebirds remained the only sides with winning records.

Here is a look at the weekends matches as the third round of fixtures got underway.

Cymru North

Colwyn Bay had to come from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw at home against Llay Welfare. An own goal from James Owen had given the away side an early lead, before a first goal of the season from Craig Linfield secured a point for the hosts.

Flint Mountain picked up their second win of the season with a narrow 1-0 result at home against Gresford Athletic. Ben Lawerence opened his account for the season in the 70th minute to claim all three points for Mountain.

A dominant display from Llandudno saw them pick up their first points of the campaign with a 3-0 home win against Penrhyncoch. Former Aberystwyth Town man Mark Cadwallder sealed the performance with his second goal of the season.

Bangor 1876 suffered their first defeat of the season in a 4-1 loss away to Prestatyn Town. 19-year old Alfie Vaughn stared with a goal and two assists to help The Seasiders bounce back from an opening day defeat.

Caersws continued their winning start to the campaign with a 2-1 home win against Ruthin Town. Joshua Astley got his first goal of the season to open the scoring before Sam Phillips doubled their advantage. Jake Hughes Hampson scored from the spot again for the visitors but it wasn’t enough as they suffered their second league defeat.

Buckley Town made it back to back wins as they ran out 2-0 winners at home to Holywell Town. A brace from 19-year old Bradley Knight inspired The Bucks as they climb to third in the table.

A late penalty from George Peers gave Airbus UK Broughton a dramatic 2-1 win away to Guilsfield to maintain their winning start to the season. The Wingmakers came from a goal behind leaving the home side still searching for their first points of the season.

Denbigh Town sit bottom of the table following a 2-1 loss away to Mold Alexandra. Owen Davies had given The Reds the lead but a stoppage time strike from Seydou Samba gave the hosts a dramatic victory.

Cymru South

In a dramatic ending Carmarthen Town snatched the points in a 3-2 home win against Baglan Dragons. It appeared that Thomas Davies had salvaged a draw for the away side in the 89th minute, before Rio Booth struck in added time for The Old Gold.

Caerau Ely picked up their first win of the campaign with a convincing 3-0 away win against Taffs Well. A late penalty from skipper Jack Ashford opened his account for the season as The Young Guns got their campaign up and running.

New signing Josh Allen stared as Cambrian United picked up a 3-1 away win against Pontypridd United. The fiery encounter ended The Dragons winning start to the campaign, with manager Gavin Allen describing it as the worst performance he had seen since joining the club.

The sides couldn’t be separated at Princess Margaret Way as Afan Lido and Newport City played out a 1-1 draw. Liam Griffiths had given the home side the lead after just eight minutes before Luke Cooper scored his second of the season to tie the game.

Goytre United bounced back from midweek defeat with a dominant 5-1 win away to Penrhiwceiber Rangers. Keane Watts scored three as The Goyt climbed to third in the Cymru South table.

Llanelli Town came from behind to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw away to Llantwit Major. Lewis Iles struck to give The Reds an early lead before goals from Josh Morgan and Matthew Kimmins gave the home side the advantage. Henry Jones got his second of the season to earn a point for Lee John’s men as they remain unbeaten.

Cwmbran Celtic remain one of only two sides in the division yet to pick up a point as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Trefelin. Young star Roan Piper scored two and missed one from the spot as the away side bounced back from midweek defeat.

The second club who have failed to register a point are Ammanford, suffering a 3-2 loss against league leaders Trethomas Bluebirds. 21-Year old Ethan Edwards scoring twice in as many fixtures to keep the newly promoted side’s impressive start to the season going.
