Lee Trundle nets hat-trick on debut

Lee Trundle had a debut to remember for Llanelli Town AFC as he bagged a hat-trick for the Welsh League Division 2 side away at Aberdare.

The former Swansea City favourite joined Andy Hill’s Llanelli last week, and was set to make his debut against Goytre United midweek, however missed the game as he attended the birth of his daughter.

However, it was worth the wait for the Reds fans as he demonstrated that he still has it by netting a hat-trick.

He scored his first on 22 minutes when he darted inside from the right and sent a bullet of a shot into the top corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

His second came before the interval when his sumptuous free-kick from 25 yards left the keeper rooted to the spot, as he sent the Reds 2-0 up.

Josh Powell hit back after the break to reduce the deficit, but Trundle made the day his own later on as he sent a shot in off the post to bag his hat-trick.

Despite a late goal from Ricki Carter, Trundle’s hat-trick was enough to help Llanelli to all three points.
