Hotshot Conwy striker departs for Llandudno
In form Conwy Borough striker Joe Chaplin has this evening signed for Welsh Premier League side Llandudno.
He returns to the club that he departed back in 2011 after success with the youth sides, winning two North Wales Youth Cups with Dudno. He was in contention for a first team berth but an ankle injury him out.
Chaplin had a three year spell with fellow Welsh Premier League side Cardiff Metropolitan University as the Archers made their way from Welsh League Division Three football to Division One, in the three years of study that Joe had spent at Cyncoed.
After completing his studies, Chaplin joined Huws Gray Alliance side Conwy Borough, where he made he played and scored on his first full debut with a goal against Holyhead Hotspur back in January of last year.
Chaplin was an absentee in Conwy’s crushing 11-1 defeat to runaway league leaders Prestatyn Town on Saturday, a defeat which saw Conwy rooted to the bottom of the table.
It is the second striker in a week that Llandudno have signed having seen the return of striker Jamie Reed. It is a position that Llandudno needed to strengthen in due to their record of scoring just 0.82 goals a game, which meant that they had finished as the lowest scorers of Phase One.
