Denbigh will be looking to inflict more damage onto Holywell says Denbigh Town manager Eddie Maurice-Jones.
Denbigh went into the Conwy game aiming for maximum points, due to Conwy’s bad form.
“Due to our most recent performances our aim was for maximum points, so taking this and Conwy’s recent form into account it feels like two points dropped. The league is so competitive and tough you simply can’t take anything for granted and actually a point on the day was all we earned!”
Due to the form of Holywell, Denbigh will be looking to take advantage and capitalise on their bad form.
“This is something that does cross your mind and yes we would want to capitalise on their misfortune but I’m not reading too much into past results. Holywell have a strong team and are just going through a bad patch, so with Conwy’s results still in our minds we will not be complacent. We know we will have to be at the top of our game to get anything from this fixture.”
Maurice-Jones are aware of the threat of Shaun Tuck of Holywell Town
“I’m aware of Shaun Tuck, he’s a very talented player, as are many of the Holywell side. I try not to dwell on other teams and individuals too much as I believe it’s down to our own team’s ability to get a result.”
The Denbigh Town manager has also praised reserves forward Sean James and he’s been keeping an eye on other young player’s aswell.
“Sean shows great promise as a young player and he has clearly got an eye for goal. He has most definitely caught my attention. There are actually a number of very talented young players coming through the reserves who will get an opportunity to step up when the time is right.”
Matty Cook has settled into the set up at Denbigh and Maurice-Jones will be looking for Cook to be a key player for his squad to the rest of the season.
“Matt came into the squad last Saturday but he’s been training with us for several weeks. I’ve been pleased at the way he has adapted and fitted into the group and he will be a key figure in Saturday’s squad and hopefully for the rest of the season.”
Denbigh’s Allan Bull has been performing very well for Denbigh and a crucial player for Denbigh.
“Alan is a great player, his ability and experience is an asset to us. He has scored some crucial goals whilst I’ve been at Denbigh. Alan listens and adapts to any role he is given and his performances have shown the quality he offers.”
