Queens Park promotion confirmed after ground inspection

Welsh National League Premier Division champions Queens Park have had their promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance confirmed today.

The Wrexham-based outfit will now play in the second tier, following their new ground share facilities at Lex Glyndwr’s Stantsy Park passing a pitch inspection.

The inspection is part of new second tier criteria introduced by the FAW to drive up standards in the Huws Gray Alliance and Welsh Football League.

After news of their confirmed promotion came through, Queens Park manager Martin Ford said;

“We’ve finished one chapter, now onto the next one.”

Before Ford can shape his side for Huws Gray Alliance, they face a NEWFA Cup semi final against Hawarden Rangers next week. Should they win progress to the final, they will face either Buckley Town or Gresford at Wrexham’s racecourse ground.

Queens Park fought off fierce competition to win this year’s WNLPD title, beating the likes of Brickfield Rangers with 67 points from 26 games, losing just three times.
