While the season has already come to a close for a large majority of North Wales clubs, two of the region’s brightest sides will go head to head for the NEWFA Cup tonight.
Gresford AFC and Queens Park meet in what will be an all-Wrexham area final at Airbus, where they will be hoping to finish the season off with silverware having both enjoyed successful campaigns.
Queens Park go into the game as the newest members of the Huws Gray Alliance, having won the Welsh National Premier Divison title and passed ground criteria to play in the second tier.

During the 2016/17 campaign they won 22 games from 26, losing on only three occasions to storm to the title against formidable opposition in Brickfield Rangers. Now, they will be looking to prove they have what it takes to compete in the HGA, but this will be no mean feat against high flying Gresford.
Gresford have been transformed into serious competitors by coach Steve Halliwell who took charge of the first team in late 2016. Under Halliwell Gresford achieved their highest ever league finish of third this season, and look set to continue their good form with a dynamic squad.
