Ex-Nomad Baynes joins the Wingmakers

Airbus UK Broughton have moved to sign Wes Baynes after the right back left Connah’s Quay Nomads last week.

A product of Wrexham and a former Colwyn Bay captain, Baynes cemented a place in Andy Morrison’s first team making 55 appearances for Nomads.

Irony in Baynes’ signing will not be lost on Airbus supporters, as he scored the decisive goal in Airbus’ 1-0 play off final defeat against Connah’s Quay. Having narrowly lost out on a place in Europe, Airbus went on to be relegated in April 2017 after a 2-1 loss to Rhyl.

Baynes is amongst three new arrivals at the Hollingsworth Group stadium, with Steve Tomassen of Tamworth and ex-Newtown defender Steff Edwards also confirmed as signings by manager Andrew Thomas.
