Airbus UK have become the only club in the second tier of Welsh Football to have a professional player in their ranks.
The club has announced the signing of striker Alfons Fosu-Mensah on professional contract firms until the end of the 2018/19 season.
The club’s official website revealed the contract signing comes after Fosu-Mensah had already attracted interest from JD Welsh Premier League clubs and other pyramids.
After signing for the Wingmakers in the summer, he has gone on to score eight goals from four starts and one substitute appearance, contributing to Airbus’ current position at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance.
The contract is a clear statement of intent from Airbus, who were relegated from the Welsh Premier League last season after a lengthy stint in the top flight, during which they qualified for Europe three times and reached the JD Welsh Cup final.
Born in Amsterdam, Fosu-Mensah has experience of full time football in the Dutch system and has also played for North Ferriby United, Hednesford Town and Marine.
He is the brother of Manchester United player Timothy Fosu-Mensah who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace.
