RECAP: Cardiff Metropolitan University v Newtown – Nathaniel MG Cup semi-final

Cardiff Metropolitan University and Newtown meet again this evening as the two sides come together to compete for a place in the Nathaniel MG Cup final.
It is the first semi-final to take place, as either the Archers or the Robins will play the Connah’s Quay Nomads or The New Saints.
The Met haven’t reached the final in their history, in fact this is the first time they have reached the semi-final in their history, whilst the Robins were losing finalists in 2011 as they suffered defeat to Afan Lido.
A place in the final would top off what has been an impressive second season in the top flight for the Archers, as they currently sit top of the Welsh Premier League.
In the previous meeting between the two sides this season, the two played to a competitive match in horrendous conditions as Adam Roscrow netted twice, to maintain Met’s unbeaten home start to the season.
