Hewitt and Webb join Llandudno to make it eleven signings
Llandudno FC have continued their overhaul this summer with two new acquisitions in the transfer window, bringing the total up to 11 signings so far.
Ieuan Hewitt and Alun Webb have made the move to Maesdu Park this week, with Llandudno taking little time to prepare for next season by making many early moves.
After seeing seven players leave the club so far, the squad that finished 10th in the Welsh Premier League during the 2017/18 campaign will have a vastly different look heading into the new football year.
Ieuan Hewitt joins the club from Flint Town United and leaves after winning the Huws Gray Alliance League Cup only a month earlier.
Manager Iwan Williams spoke highly of his new signings but spoke also of a change of direction in the type of football the club want to play next season.
“Ieuan joins us from Flint where I believe he’s grown into a fantastic strong defender, especially over the last couple of years.” Willams said.
“He’s physical in the tackle and has great distribution and will suit exactly how we want to play next season. Again, we’ve looked to bring a balance in this season of players who have been there and done it but also characters who want to prove themselves at the highest level.”
Alun Webb joins Llandudno FC after playing with Gallivare Malmbergets FF in Sweden, whom he joined from Rhyl last season.
“Alun is a familiar face to the supporters as he’s a local lad who came through the Llandudno youth system. He has Welsh Premier experience and is your typical pacy winger. He’s direct and fit as anything.“ Williams added.
“Having represented Lymm University and playing within the National Tournament which is no mean feat, he has the attitude and characteristics to do very well here.”
The winger will add valuable WPL experience to the Llandudno squad, who will look to climb the table after finishing only one spot above the relegation zone last season.
