JD Welsh Premier League announces key dates for 2018/19 season

The JD Welsh Premier League has today released its set of key dates for the 2018/19 campaign.

After a highly competitive 2017/18 season, anticipation for the season’s start in August is already building with the likes of Connah’s Quay and Bala making strong signings to challenge champions The New Saints.

Meanwhile, old-guard sides Caernarfon Town and Llanelli AFC are set to make their long awaited return to the top flight.

All twelve clubs will find out their phase one fixture list on Wednesday 27 June on 13:00 , and there will be added excitement for Cefn Druids and Bala Town who play their Europa League preliminary round first leg ties the next day.

The full season will commence on the weekend of the 10th August, with phase one coming to a close on January 12 2019.

Phase two will start on the first week of February and end on the final weekend on April.

May 18 has been set as play off final day, where two teams will battle it out for Wales’ final place in Europe and the chance to bank around 200,000 euros.

The league cup will start on 28 August with the final on Saturday 19 January.

Most rounds of this competition will be played midweek and be regionalised, but the semi finals are to be played on a weekend for the first time this season.

Stay tuned to Y Clwb Pel Droed for all JD Welsh Premier League throughout the season, starting with the fixture list announcement.
