Wales’ top goal scorer for their World Cup Qualifying campaign Kayleigh Green has joined Brighton & Hove Albion.
Green netted a total of three times over the last international break, including a brace against Russia as they topped their group with one game left.
She also netted at the Liberty Stadium in their win over Bosnia & Herzegovina. Green was also the only scorer when Wales won 1-0 out in Bosnia.
Green, 30, was out of contract at Yeovil Town, who finished bottom of the Women’s Super League this season.
“We’re delighted to secure the services of Kayleigh, she’s a player we’ve tracked for a while and it’s great to welcome her to the club,” said Brighton manager Hope Powell.
“She brings a wealth of experience at both international and domestic level, and will no doubt bolster the options we have across the pitch.
“I’m very much looking forward to working alongside Kayleigh, as we prepare for our first season in the top flight.”

She will play under former England Women’s manager Hope Powell, who managed the Lionesses from 1998 to 2013. She was also made the manager of the Great Britain Olympic team, before being appointed Brighton & Hove Albion manager in 2017.
“My new challenge awaits me! Can’t wait to start my next chapter with Brighton & Hove Albion,” tweeted Green.
I would just like to thank everyone at Yeovil. I’ve had an amazing two years at the club, thanks to all the staff, my team mates, and especially the fans for all your support, you’ve been incredible! A big thank you to Jamie Sherwood for everything you’ve done for me!”
The 30-year-old had experience on the Champions League stage, playing for Cardiff City who she started her career with.
There were also five appearances for Serie B side Chieti Calcio, before returning to Yeovil Town. Green can play as both a defender and a forward. For Wales, she has lead the line.
Her Wales team-mate Sophie Ingle joined FA Women’s Super League champions and FAW Women’s Cup holders Chelsea Women yesterday.
