RECAP: Three second half goals ensures Derby Day delight for Cambrian

Cambrian & Clydach Vale host Ton Pentre in the first Rhondda Derby of the season at The M&P Group 3G on Friday evening.

Both sides suffered defeats on the opening fixture of the season. Cambrian & Clydach Vale lost at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel by a singular goal.

Ton Pentre lost to Afan Lido 2-1, with Leon Jacka, a man who has played for both sides, scoring the only goal for the Bulldogs.

A number of players, including new signing Andre Phillips for Cambrian and Keane Thomas, of Ton Pentre, have donned both the blue of Cambrian and red of Ton Pentre.

Last campaign, Cambrian finished fourth in Division One, whilst the Bulldogs finished bottom but were given a reprieve due to Caerau Ely and Monmouth Town failing the Tier Two licence.

In the last Rhondda Derby, the two sides played to a 1-1 draw at Ynys Park, following a 5-1 drubbing by Cambrian earlier in the season.
