Huws Gray Roundup: Matchday 6

It was an exciting week in the Huws Gray Alliance, with 32 goals in eight games over two days, including a big result in a top of the table clash.

In the big fixture of the weekend, Airbus defeated Bangor, who suffered their third defeat, whilst Flint secured an impressive 7-1 win over Ruthin Town.

Airbus 3-2 Bangor

After defeats to Porthmadog and Denbigh Town, and  a draw against Holyhead, Bangor were in need of a win. But, Airbus continued their 100% start to the season, with goals from Asa Hamilton, Steve Tomassen and a Marc Williams own goal enough to give the Wingmakers all three points.

Buckley Town 2-1 Porthmadog

Buckley picked up their third consecutive win over Porthmadog, with a 2-1 victory at home. Goals from Adam Eden and Aled Bellis, either side of a Dan Dascalu goal for Porthmadog, secured Buckley an impressive victory over sixth placed Port.

Denbigh Town 1-1 Penrhyncoch

Goals from Liam Lewis and Alfonso Fosu-Mensah meant that the spoils were shared in this second tier match. Penrhyncoch took the lead early on, but a penalty 12 minutes from time secured a draw for the home side.

Flint Town United 7-1 Ruthin Town

Flint bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a 7-1 victory over Ruthin Town. Niall McGuiness’ side continued their early season form with an emphatic victory. Mark Cadwallader scored a hat-trick within the opening 16 minutes, as their potent attack proved their worth against Ruthin at home.

Holyhead Hotspur 2-1 Prestatyn Town

Holyhead Hotspur earned their maiden victory of the season, with a 2-1 home win over Prestatyn Town. Goals from youngster Harry Galeotti and Jamie McDaid ensured the hosts got off the mark in the Huws Gray Alliance this term.

Rhyl 1-3 Gresford Athletic

It has been an inconsistent start to 2018/19 for Rhyl under their new management team. Two losses, one draw, and three victories. A goal from Barry Torrence did nothing to console the disappointment of the Rhyl fans, as goals from Jordan MacCarter, Sam Molyneux and Keiran Evans secured all three points for Gresford.

Guilsfield 5-0 Llanrhaedr

Guilsfield got their second win of the season, with a 5-0 victory over newly promoted Llanrhaedr. Adam Jenkins, Dan Barton and Jack Richards all scored, as well as Steve Blenkinsop adding two goals to grab the win for the side.

Holywell Town 1-1 Conwy Borough

It has been a magnificent start to the season for Conwy Borough, who continued their form with a draw this weekend. Damien Ketley opened the scoring, but Gerwyn Jones equalled for the visitors, who rose to fourth with a point this weekend.
