McGuiness adds Ketley to Flint squad from local rivals Holywell

Flint Town United manager Niall McGuiness has added striker Damien Ketley to his attacking options, after signing the player from local rivals Holywell Town.

Ketley has significant experience in Welsh football, and plied his trade with Prestatyn Town in the JD Welsh Premier League season, for whom he made 15 appearances last term, netting once in the top flight, before the club were relegated to the Huws Gray Alliance.

After an overhaul of the squad at Prestatyn this summer, under the new management team of Ryan Turner and Leon Field, the forward made the switch before the season to fellow Huws Gray Alliance outfit Holywell Town.

Ketley has impressed so far at his new club, having played in all of the opening seven fixtures in the league this term, and managed to get on the scoresheet against Conwy this weekend.

Flint have started the season in fine form in McGuiness’ first full season in charge, and currently sit second in the league, behind Airbus. The former Rhyl manager’s side have lost just once this term and will be hoping that the addition of Ketley will boost their chances of ensuring their positive start to the season continues.

“Damo is a player I’ve followed closely over the last few seasons, and it’s nice to finally be able to work with him, as I know what ability and tremendous potential he has. I would also like to thank Holywell Town for their assistance in facilitating the transfer”, said McGuiness.

The forward will be added to the squad for this weekend’s Huws Gray Cup fixture against Holyhead Town.
