Club enters Youth Cup despite not having a registered youth team

Ynysddu Welfare’s youth side have been drawn away to Briton Ferry in the FAW Youth Cup, despite the fact that the club do not have a Youth team.

The FAW Youth Cup draw was made earlier this week, and the South Wales outfit’s Youth Side were drawn against the Welsh League outfit with the tie due to be played on October 7th.

However, the club do not have a Youth side.

We don’t have a youth team but we are in the cup 😂😂 god knows how that’s happened</p>&mdash; Ynysddu Welfare FC (@ynyswelfare) <a href=”https://twitter.com/ynyswelfare/status/1042092998358646786?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>September 18, 2018</a></blockquote>

The team from the Gwent County Leagues were not to be defied though, as they have made a desperate plea on Twitter for any unattached players between the ages of 16-18 to join  the club so that they can complete the fixture.

However, their attempts have not fallen on deaf ears as the tweet has gone somewhat viral.

The popular Twitter account ‘The Sportsman’ have already shared the tweet, claiming that they would now be backing Welfare in the Cup as they attempt to defy the odds and form a team ahead of the game in three weeks time.

They have even had, albeit seemingly sarcastic, offers from fellow clubs offering their players on a one game transfer so that the club can complete the fixture.

The club have claimed that they have had numerous offers from players, including one from a player in Essex, and they are prepared should the fixture go ahead.

However, the attempt to form a team has gone down well on social media, and they have received support from various people and fans, including those in the media.

Regardless of the result, the 7th October is bound to go down as an historic day for Ynysddu Welfare.
