Mudimu nominated for Sports Person of the Year

Cefn Druids midfielder Alec Mudimu has been nominated for Zimbabwe’s Sports Person of the Year.

The Druids midfielder has enjoyed an impressive 18 months with the JD Welsh Premier League outfit, having helped the North Wales outfit qualify for the UEFA Europa League following a European play-off final victory over Cardiff Met last season.

The midfielder was instrumental in their success in the league last term and earned a call-up to the national side in March last year.

He joined the club from Stalybridge Celtic, and hit a purple patch of form after joining the top flight outfit in Wales. His form saw him play for his national side in the Four Nations tournament held in Zambia earlier this year.

After success with both club and national team, the midfielder has now been nominated for a national award along with various others.

Mudimu is nominated alongside Admiral Muskwe, Muzzy Nduna, Tawanda Chipadza, Sean Mhende and Tanya Muzinda for the Sports Person of the Year.

The award, organised by the Zimbabwe Young Achievers Awards UK, incorporates various other categories for the national awards, including Male Entrepreneur of the Year, Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Business of the Year, Media Personality of the Year, Event Organiser of the Year, Rising Star Award and many other awards.

The awards evening is being held in Coventry on December 22nd in order to celebrate the young achievers from Zimbabwe.
