Pontypridd Town appoint Gavin Beddard as permanent successor to Broad duo
Welsh Football League side Pontypridd Town have appointed Gavin Beddard as their new First Team Manager
Beddard had been in temporary charge of the club since the departure of Damien and Dominic Broad back in October. The experienced Welsh League forward has been in charge of four games, suffering defeat just once.
He will be assisted by former Tredegar Town assistant coach Chris Sims Beddard had previously played for UWIC Inter Cardiff, who were owned by current Pontypridd Town chairman Max James.
Pontypridd Town released a statement on social media announcing Beddard’s appointment: “Pontypridd Town are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Management team to replace the very successful Broad brothers Damien and Dominic who handed down over the reins for an interim period to Gavin Beddard and Chris Simms.
It has been decided to appoint Gavin as Manager and Chris as Assistant Manager. Club Chairman Phil Gibb has been impressed by the teams performance over the last few weeks and had no hesitation in appointing Gavin and Chris.
They both have great experience of the Welsh Football League and are looking forward to seeing their excellent squad of players moving up the table. Gavin was a prolific goal scorer with Dinas Powys and Chris a very successful coach who has unearthed many talented players.”
Beddard and Sims’ first game in permanent charge will come against Nathaniel MG Cup finalists Cambrian & Clydach Vale.
