LIVE: All the New Years Day Action in the JD Welsh Premier League

The Welsh Premier League has its first set of fixtures of the New Year, with a number of festive period doubleheaders taking place.

Aberystwyth Town lost twice to Newtown whilst Cardiff Metropolitan secured a shock result over league leaders Barry Town United yesterday.

But despite four teams completing their festive fixtures early, there are still four games to be played. There are important things at stake, like Llandudno’s plight in the Welsh Premier League. They’re currently bottom of the table but can move above Llanelli with a win today.

Llandudno’s opponents Caernarfon can create a three-point gap over Aberystwyth Town and a six-point gap over Cardiff Metropolitan in the race for top six.

And then we have the exciting Welsh Premier League title race. Connah’s Quay lost to the Lakesiders at Maes Tegid yesterday but a win at the Deeside Stadium would take them back to top spot.

So sit back and relax and follow our live blog of the four games as the goals go flying in.
