Cwm Welfare send out desprate recruitmentplea after suffering 17-0 hammering from Cardiff Draconians
South Wales Alliance League side Cwm Welfare have put out a desperate recruitment plea after suffering a crushing 17-0 defeat to Cardiff Draconians last weekend.
The former Welsh League side are currently rock bottom of the Premier Division, with just six points out of a possible 48 this season. Welfare have conceded in total 123 goals this season, with still fourteen games to play.
Welfare suffered a 12-1 defeat to Brecon Corries at Mount Pleasant Park last week and a 16-0 defeat just before the Christmas break to Ynyshir Albions, meaning they’ve conceded 45 goals in just three games. In total, they’ve lost six times by two figure margins this season.
The Beddau based club finished 14th in the South Wales Alliance League last season, but escaped relegation to Division One. That 14th placed finish came after finishing last in the Welsh League Division Three in 2016/2017.
“Cwm Welfare are looking for committed players to join our senior side.
After a tough start to the season where results haven’t gone to plan. We urgently seek players that can commit! The squad are a great bunch of lads that fight for each other on the pitch.”
Cwm Welfare were praised for their hospitality and performance in their crushing defeat on Saturday by winners Cardiff Draconians.
Cardiff Draconians tweeted: “Thanks to @cwmwelfareafc for the hospitality, and credit to all of your players today who worked their socks off and never gave up.
“We wish you all the very best for the future.”
Their next fixture comes next weekend when they travel to Pontlottyn.
Interested players are instructed to get in touch with the club through their social media streams. They can also be contacted via email through beddau01@hotmail.com.
