Briton Ferry Llansawel sign rival attacking duo Harris and Jones

Penybont beat Briton Ferry & Llansawel 2-0 in Welsh Football League Division One at Bryntirion Park.

Briton Ferry Llansawel have bolstered their front line with the additions of Colin Harris and Mark Jones.

The Reds have signed the attacking duo in the off season after the completing of Division One.

Harris and Jones will join up with Briton Ferry for pre-season after joining from Cwmamman United and Afan Lido.

22-year-old midfielder Harris joins Briton Ferry after three seasons with Cwmamma after joining from Goytre United. He earned a promotion with the Amman Valley club and was part of last season’s side which earned their highest ever league finish. 

Wales C international Mark Jones joins Briton Ferry having spent last season with Llanelli Town and Afan Lido.

Jones finished top scorer in Division One, despite only playing in the second tier from November. 

The experience forward ended up scoring 24 goals for Lido, helping them to a fourth placed finish.

A total of 16 players have put pen to paper to remain with the Neath Port Talbot side. 

Cameron Harris, Connah McFenton, Daniel Kingdom, Darius Waters, Gareth Jones, Ian Hillier, Jared Lake, Josh Roberts, Luke Harris, Luke Jones, Luke Probert, Rob Thomas, Rory Healey, Sam Baker, Scott Tomlinson, and Warren Hudson have committed their futures to the club. 

There have also been some alterations to the coaching staff at Old Road.

Former Swans academy coach Leigh David has joined Carl Shaw’s coaching stuff, replacing Gary Elsey who has stood down from his role due to work commitments. Elsey will remain with the club in some capacity. 

Forward Tyler Brock has left the club.
