Monmouth Town in search of new first-team manager

Monmouth Town are on the search for a new manager after Nicky Morgan’s departure.

Morgan took up the vacancy at FAW Championship South side Cwmbran Celtic and now the Kingfishers require a new manager to take them forward. 

He had taken over from Ross Kennedy, who stood down from his post in July 2018.

The former Division One winners finished four points off of a promotion spot.

A statement from the club read: “The Kingfishers are on the lookout for a new manager to lead us into the 2019/2020 season! We are an ambitious and exciting club in Welsh League Division.”

The necessary candidate must hold the UEFA B Licence. 

The club plan to name a manager in the next couple of weeks to make for a smooth transition in pre-season.

In April, Monmouth Town had plans for a 250-seater stand submitted for approval to the town council planning committee. Alongside the new stand, there will be a hard standing path and dugouts opposite the pitch.

The erection of a new stand would help them towards an application for the Tier Two licence, should they apply for the Tier Two licence next season. 

Speaking to the Monmouthshire Beacon, Brian Bond said: “I want to see the team play in the Welsh Premiership and we need to have a facility to progress that high.”
