Lee Kendall steps down as Pontypridd Town manager

Pontypridd Town’s Lee Kendall has stood down from his post as manager.
Kendall kept the Dragons up after taking over from Gavin Beddard in February.
Pontypridd were bottom of the Division but after six victories, three draws and two defeats in 11 games, the former Rhyl goalkeeper was able to guide them to safety.
Pontypridd then obtained the Tier Two Licence on the basis of playing at Aberdare Town’s Aberaman Park, ensuring that the club will play in the inaugural FAW Championship South.
A statement released by Lee Kendall read: “Extra commitments outside of football mean I am unable to devote the time needed to be the manager of a football club.
“I had a great time with Pontypridd Town and would like to thank the clubs management and players who have supported me
“The level of commitment and intensity needed to work as a manager in the Welsh Championship was something I would struggle to reinforce with my responsibilities but I would still look to be in football in some capacity outside of management.”
The statement ended with Pontypridd Town thanking Lee Kendall for his service as manager.
“The club would like to thank Lee for all his efforts and wish him well for the future.
“The Dragons are now in the process of appointing a new manager in due course.”
Kendall’s gig at Pontypridd Town was his first role in management after previously being on the coaching staff at Barry Town United this season.
