Wales international Hayley Ladd joins Manchester United
Manchester United have signed Wales star Hayley Ladd on a pre-contract agreement.
The Red Devils have moved in to sign the 25-year-old after spending two seasons with Birmingham City.
Manchester United announced the news on Wednesday afternoon with additional information to come.
She will remain in the Women’s Super League after Manchester United were promoted to the top tier of Women’s football in England after comfortably winning the FA Women’s Championship last season.
After her departure from Birmingham was announced last week, Ladd said to WelshFootballFans.com: “I’ve had a brilliant time here and enjoyed every minute of it.
“I’ve played under two managers and enjoyed both equally as much. I think it’s time to move on for a new challenge.”
Ladd began her footballing career with Arsenal. She had a loan spell at Finnish side Kokkola Futis 10 before signing for Coventry City. Having spent three years with The Sky Blues, she played for Bristol City.
She has been in the International set up since 2011 and was presented with her 50th cap in Wales’ 1-0 victory over New Zealand on Tuesday.
Ladd played the whole ninety minutes in what was her 55th appearance for the Red Dragons, as she kept a clean sheet against the Football Ferns, who will be playing in this summers World Cup.
