FAW Championship South side Taffs Well will host a Cardiff City XI for a third consecutive pre-season.

The Wellmen will host Cardiff City on Friday 5th July, as pre-season gets underway for the Blues.

Since Neil Warnock took charge of his first full season of Cardiff, the Bluebirds have sent a squad to Rhiw’r Ddar.

A number of senior players are expected to be in attendance as Cardiff begin their preparations for the upcoming season.

Former Welsh Premier League forward Rhys Healey netted in a 3-0 win over the Wellmen last time out in what was an experimental Cardiff side.

In their first meeting, Taffs Well only lost 1-0 to a Cardiff side who later went on to win promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking to CardiffCityFC.co.uk, Neil Warnock said: “Taff’s Well have been so accommodating over the last few years, so we thought we’d do the same again and make a good contribution to the coffers.

“We’re delighted – Taff’s Well are a lovely, friendly club. The boys will be down there, some playing and some around the place, and it will be a lovely night again.”

Ken Choo said: “Our matches with Taff’s Well over the past two summers have been great occasions for both sides and the supporters.

“We’re all looking forward to meeting them again as we help to raise funds for a fantastic cause.”

Both Haverfordwest County and Trefelin Boys & Girls Club have also announced friendlies with Cardiff City but the EFL Championship club has yet to confirm on their official streams.
