Chepstow Town appoint Andrew Wenzel as manager

Chepstow Town have appointed former player Andrew Wenzel as their new first team manager.

Wenzel was a long-serving player at Larkfield Park and returns to Chepstow having managed English non-league side Woolaston.

The 32-year-old will be assisted by Lewis Thomas and Nathan Thomas.

Wenzel replaces Ian Summers and Paul Lovell, who were appointed managers back in December.

He wound down his playing career with Caldicot Town in 2017. Wenzel then made the transition from player to assistant manager at the Gwent club before taking his first role in senior management.

Andrew Wenzel was part of the Chepstow side which won back to back promotions to Division Two from 2013 to 2015.

Last season, Wenzel guided Woolaston to the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two title alongside Nathan Thomas.  Nathan was previously the manager of Caldicot Town reserves and has coached at Newport County.

Lewis Thomas has been appointed Under-18s manager.

Wenzel will begin life in the Chepstow dugout with a friendly against Undy Athletic on the 5th July.
