RECAP: Connah’s Quay suffer late defeat to Kilmarnock

Live updates from Belle Vue as Connah’s Quay take on Kilmarnock in the Europa League.

Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock are playing their first European fixture in eighteen years, whilst the Nomads are playing their fifth European tie in four years.

Kilmarnock are under the new managership of Angelo Alessio, the former assistant of Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte. He replaced Steve Clarke, who left the Ayrshire club to join Scotland as their national team manager.

Kilmarnock drew 0-0 with Gaz Metan and lost 3-0 to Dinamo Bucuresti in their European warm-up matches. Connah’s Quay didn’t concede to anyone in their preparations and held Kilmarnock’s SPFL rivals Aberdeen to a goalless draw.
