Former Football League midfielder Lee Molyneux joins Bala

Bala Town have signed former Football League midfielder Lee Molyneux. 

The 30-year-old joins the Lakesiders after a season with National League side Barrow.

He is the second signing of the summer for Colin Caton, following the addition of Connah’s Quay Nomads defender Jonny Spittle.

Molyneux was released from Barrow after the end of his contract. He made 17 appearances, with 11 starts. He joined from Guiseley last summer.

His Football league experience comes from playing for clubs like Plymouth Argyle, Accrington Stanley, Crewe, Rochdale and Tranmere Rovers.

Since his release from Morecambe in 2017, Molyneux has been playing in the Non-League for Chorley, Guilsley and most recently Barrow. 

In 2013, he was named Accrington Stanley’s Player of the Year for 2013. He scored nine goals in 31 appearances as he helped Stanley to survival.

He was a former trainee at Everton and represented England at youth level, making 26 caps in total from Under-16 to Under-18 level.

Molyneux can play as a left-back or as a winger.
