Cardiff Metropolitan host their first home pre-season friendly after their Europa League exit to Progrès Niederkorn.
The Students received a 4-1 thrashing from Cinderford Town last week but were without a number of key players.
WPL regulars Alex Lang, Rhydian Morgan, Guto Williams, Jordan Lam and Mael Davies all played.
Owen Taylor, signed from Carmarthen Town also played and will make his home debut for the Archers today.
Merthyr Town go into the game having claimed a victory over a Welsh domestic side.
They came from behind, having trailed 3-1, to win 4-3 against FAW Championship South outfit Cwmbran Celtic.
