Wales international Andy King could be set to depart Leicester City in search for regular first team football, with Scottish Premiership side Rangers in talks with the midfielder.

The 30-year-old has entered into talks with the Gers over a potential loan move, according to Leicestershire Live.

King, who last played for the Foxes in January, when they lost 2-1 to Newport County in the FA Cup, has made 50 appearances for Wales since making his debut in 2009.

Born in Barnstape, King began his career in the youth setup at Chelsea, before leaving to join the King Power Stadium outfit in 2004.

During his 15 years in the Midlands, he has played 329 times, with his highlight coming in the 2015/16 season when Leicester incredibly won the Premier League title.

However, in recent years, he has found regular game time hard to come by, with loan spells to Swansea City in 2018 and Derby County a year later the result of falling down the pecking order.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who finished runners-up in the Liverpool legend’s first season at the helm, have won both of their opening two games in the league.

The Ibrox outfit also look on course to reach the group stages of the UEFA Europa League for a second successive season, another potential tempter for King.
