Ynysybwl: Club withdraw from league after narrowly missing out on promotion

Ynysybwl have withdrawn from The Taff Ely Rhymney Valley League.

Clubs were notified of Ynysybwl’s withdrawal from the league.

The Ynysangharad Park club had lost to Canton Rangers in the play-off final in June.

“Gutted to hear  @YnysybwlAfc have had to withdraw from this seasons competitions,” tweeted a representative from Church Village.

“Always a great battle on the pitch and top boys off it. Hope to see you boys regroup and come back strong again in the future.”

Nelson Cavaliers, who were due to play Ynysybwl next week, tweeted: Very sad to hear of @YnysybwlAfc folding.  Some great games on the field and always a good bit of banter both off and on it.

“Their record in this league speaks for itself and it’s a shame to see them go.  All the best lads.”

The league will run with ten teams, with AFC Bargoed, who were in the South Wales Alliance League, included.
