Llantwit Major: Major sign Porthcawl Town Athletic forward Jorge Crofts

Llantwit Major have moved for Porthcawl Town Athletic forward Jorge Crofts.

Crofts was the Top Goalscorer for Porthcawl in their South Wales Alliance League Division One title-winning season last season.

The 22-year-old forward was a target for Major last season, but instead helped his hometown club to a first league title.

“It means a lot to join Llantwit Major having been asked last season to go down there,” said Crofts.

“I wanted to win a league with Porthcawl first and had a bit of regret not making the move.

“I was buzzing when I got the call to go and sign down there this season with seeing how they’ve done over the years and how close the bond is with the boys, coaches, and committee it seems like a good place to be around and to progress in football.”

“I’d like to thank Porthcawl for the last couple of years, winning a league with friends and it being my home club means a lot, I wish them all the best for the season.”

Over the two seasons Crofts spent at Porthcawl Town, he scored 67 goals in 65 appearances for his hometown club.

He’s the second South Wales Alliance League player to move to Llantwit Major this summer, following Harry Davies’ move from Garw.

Crofts could make his Llantwit Major debut this weekend at home against winless Ammanford at Windmill Lane.
