Bala Town earnt an emphatic victory, inflicting a heavy defeat onto Penybont at the KYMCO Stadium.

It was the heaviest margin Penybont had lost by, following their promotion to the Welsh top flight.

The Lakesiders who return to winning ways after defeat last week comfortably beat a winless Penybont, who were taught a harsh lesson by the Gwynedd side.

Chris Venables scored a brace, moving him to the top of the goalscorer charts.

Henry Jones, Lassana Mendes, and Louis Robles also scored in the first half before Stuart Jones compounded Penybont to further misery.

Bala took the lead after only two minutes when Henry Jones snuck his effort in off the post following a Chris Venables lay-off.

Venables extended Bala’s lead in the 10th minute after Owain Warlow tripped Sean Smith to concede a penalty. The 34-year-old thumped his spot-kick past, Rhys Wilson.

Lassana Mendes effectively ended the contest as he touched in Steven Leslie’s corner kick at the far post.

Kieran Howard reduced the deficit moments after conceding the third. Howard swiped in a low shot past Ashley Morris who was unable to keep out his first test.

Bala continued to cruise despite Howard’s goal. Louis Robles came in on the far side to shoot with his effort trickling underneath the arms of Wilson.

Stuart Jones made it worse for Penybont after a well-worked corner was instinctively put in by Jones with a rebounded effort.
