Llanelli Town’s unbeaten league record was brought to an abrupt end by a bold STM Sports.

Calum Bateman and Thoma Frick’s first-half strikes stunned a Llanelli side that hadn’t tasted defeat in the Cymru South this season.

Bateman added a second to further the scoreline before Llanelli substitute Ryan Hurlow pulled one back.

Ben Ahmun and Lamin Conteh piled the misery onto a lackluster Reds side.

Mellons substitute Josh Graham missed an opportunity to further increase the damage with a saved penalty.

Kyle Copp reduced the deficit with a goal-of-the-season contender. Graham added a sixth for the hosts in the last action of the game.

Chris Worsley and Calum Bateman missed two half-chances as STM started the brightest of the two sides.

Bateman took his second opportunity to provide STM with the opening goal. The STM forward scuffed the ball over the line whilst grounded alongside Llanelli goalkeeper Scott Coughlin.

Coughlin made a much needed save to deny Benjamin Ahmun a quick-fire second for the hosts after a curling shot from Riccardo Mackenzie’s long run.

Llanelli were denied an equaliser on the half hour mark as Hermon Yohanes blocked Kyle Copp’s effort on the line.

Reds keeper Coughlin importantly denied Chris Worsley after a mazy run from Marcus Jones.

Andy Hill was forced to make two first-half substitutes as Anthony Finselbach and Nathan Logan were withdrawn inside forty minutes.

Thomas Frick made the day worse for Llanelli as an impressive solo run from his own half was expertly finished by the recent signing.

Llanelli substitute Ryan Hurlow later hit the post in the last action of the half as the Reds went into the break stunned.

Calum Bateman struck for the second time briefly after the restart. Ahmun teed Bateman up for a composed finish past Coughlin to extend their advantage.

Ryan Hurlow tapped home from close range to provide the away side with some slight hope as it opened the game up for twenty minutes.

Ahmun got onto the scoresheet as he was fed through by substitute Lamin Conteh, as he placed his strike past Coughlin.

Conteh got off the mark too as he smacked a shot into the goal from an angle.

Fellow substitute Josh Graham missed the chance to score as Coughlin denied him from the spot after earning a penalty.

Kyle Copp hit a sumptuous left-footed ping past the rooted Exauce Dimonekene to reduce Llanelli’s blushes.

Josh Graham, earlier denied by Coughlin made amends in the last action of the game as Thoma Frick laid it to Graham to stroke home from yards out.

STM Sports manager Nana Baah said:

“It was good to see a reaction after last week’s defeat.

“We now know regardless of who we play against that we can beat anybody.

“It wasn’t for them (Llanelli) being bad, it was us being exceptional today.”
