Wales: Returns for Matondo, Ramsey, Roberts and Williams

Ryan Giggs has announced his squad for Wales’ upcoming European 2020 qualifiers, with Rabbi Matondo, Aaron Ramsey, Ashley Williams and Tyler Roberts all returning to the side.

Giggs has opted to bring back in four faces to freshen up his squad, with the most notable being Ashley Williams; who could captain the side against both Slovakia and Croatia later this month.

Williams was left out of the last squad, for the game against Azerbaijan and Belarus; while he was without a club.

He has since signed for Bristol City, where he has featured four times for the Robins – chipping in with one assist in the process.

19-year-old Matondo has also been selected after impressing for Bundesliga outfit, FC Schalke.

Matondo netted his first goal for the German side on the weekend; as they defeated Reb Bull Leipzig 3-2 on the weekend, at the Red Bull Arena.

Juventus playmaker Ramsey, who has been ruled out for a lengthy spell due to injury, is also set to feature after being picked by Giggs.

Ramsey has flourished since making the switch from the Premier League to Serie A. He bagged his first goal for the Old Lady on the 21st September; during a 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona at the Allianz Stadium.

Leeds forward Tyler Roberts is the final player to come in for Ryan Giggs’ men, as they look ahead to two pivotal fixtures in Group E, with the Red Dragons currently in fourth place; four points off leaders, Croatia.

Meanwhile, both James Lawrence of FC St. Pauli and Ryan Hedges of Aberdeen have been left out of the Wales squad.
