Jordan Cotterill: Barry Town captain’s ban reduced

Barry Town United captain Jordan Cotterill has seen his six-month ban from playing reduced.

Cotterill was initially charged with assault, but following an appeal, has been reduced to technical assault for his conduct towards the match referee in their 2-1 opening day win over Penybont.

A statement from the Football Association of Wales following the hearing read: “The charge against Mr Cotterill be found poven of Technical Assault in accordance with 2.4.3 and 3A of the Regulations Governing Assaults on Match Officials.

“The Panel also decided that the suspension should commence once the Match Suspension for Jordan Coterill’s sending-off in the fixture Penybont v Barry Town United played on 16 August 2019 wad completely served, which was done so on 23 August 2019.

“Therefore, the 10 Match Suspension would commence from 24 August 2019. The Panel decided that the fine imposed on Mr Cotterill will remain in place.

The 30-year-old has served eight matches of his ban and will become available for their Cymru Premier clash with Connah’s Quay on the 9th November.
