Caerau Ely: Danny Hooper appointed manager
Caerau Ely have appointed player Danny Hooper as their first-team manager.
The 33-year-old takes to football management for the first time after a lengthy playing career in the Welsh League.
He succeeds Craig Sampson who left his role as manager in November.
Caerau Ely thanked Gus Brandon for his role as interim manager after being promoted from the assistant manager:
“The club would like to thank Gus Brandon for his tenure as the interim manager.
“He has steadied the squad and put in a platform for the Young Guns.
“Their performances have without a doubt seen a positive improvement under his guidance in this period and now have an identity to push forward for the rest of the season.”
Hooper returned to Cwrt-yr-ala Road as a player in 2018 after winning promotion with Pontypridd Town in the previous season.
His first game in charge will be against STM Sports on January 4 in the JD Cymru South.
Caerau are currently bottom of the JD Cymru South and are yet to record a league victory.
