Penybont have signed goalkeeper Ashley Morris and midfielder Ashley Evans.

Evans, returns to the Cymru Premier after spells with Neath, Llanelli and Port Talbot Town.

Morris, 35, joins on loan from Bala Town until the end of the season.

The former Merthyr Town goalkeeper has played a rotational role to Josh Tibbetts this campaign, making 10 appearances for the Lakesiders.

Morris has made 160 appearances in the Cymru Premier since 2014.

Moving from across the English non-league system is Ashley Evans who returns to the Welsh pyramid system after a four-year exile.

Upon Evans’ departure from Penydarren Park, the Martyrs captain said: “I’d like to thank players, staff, volunteers and supporters for the wonderful years I’ve spent at Merthyr Town.

“It will always hold a special place for me.”

Merthyr Town confirmed Evans’ departure on their official club website.

Manager Gavin Williams said: Obviously, I’m absolutely devasted to be losing our club captain.

Unfortunately, Ash has received an offer that we can’t match, as at this present moment in time we cannot compete financially with the offer that has been received.

“Ashely has been a pleasure to work with and his never say die attitude will be missed at Merthyr Town Football Club. I would like to reiterate the clubs wishes in wishing Ash all the very best”.

Merthyr Town also revealed there have been offers for four of their players.
