Aberystwyth Town manager Matthew Bishop has added to his squad with the signings of Ilan Hughes and Pavel Vieira.
Ilan Hughes, 26, joins from the Cymru North side Ruthin Town whilst 2018/19 Cymru Alliance winner Pavel Viera moves from Bangor City.
Vieira moved to Bangor City in the summer where he has made 19 appearances this season, scoring two goals.
The 27-year-old also has experience at international level with Guinea-Bissau.
Vieira is Matthew Bishop’s first signing this window having already offloaded four players.
Loanees Adam Hughes and Tom Price have returned to The New Saints and Swansea respectively, while Alex Boss and Steffan Edwards were allowed to leave the JD Cymru Premier side.
Boss has since signed for Bangor City, while Steffan Edwards looks set to sign for Cefn Druids.
Joining Viera at Park Avenue is Ruthin Town captain Ilan Hughes.
Aberystwyth were impressed by Hughes’ performance against them in their clash in the Welsh Cup third round, equalising from the penalty spot for Ruthin Town, only for Aberystwyth to progress with a 2-1 win.
Having come through the ranks at Ruthin, he was made club captain at the age of 24.
In a club statement, Ruthin Town manager Chris Hardy said: “It’s come as a bit of a shock but he’s a good player and it is no surprise that clubs like Aberystwyth have been chasing him”.
After serving Ruthin Town, Hughes admitted that “this has been a very difficult decision” and leaves “with a heavy heart,”
“However, the midfielder described his move as an “opportunity I had to take.”
Vieira’s move to Aberystwyth has been confirmed by the FAW, meaning he will be eligible to make his debut in tomorrow night’s clash with Caernarfon Town.
