Aberystwyth Town: James Rowland joins as Paulo Mendes rejects rival offers
Aberystwyth Town have completed the signing of Shrewsbury Town midfielder James Rowland.
Rowland joins on a loan until the end of the season from English League One outfit Shrewsbury Town.
The former West Bromwich Albion youngster is a professional at the Shrews, having signed a deal in May 2019.
The 18-year-old has two senior appearances to his name for Shrewsbury Town.
“I’m buzzing to get started,” tweeted Rowland after making the loan move to Park Avenue.
Alongside Rowland’s arrival, Aberystwyth announced that Paulo Mendes has rejected offers from fellow Cymru Premier clubs.
Mendes is their top scorer with six goals in 22 league appearances.
“Aberystwyth Town are delighted to announce the retention of Midfielder Paulo Mendes, who has rejected offers from other Cymru Premier Clubs and will remain at Park Avenue beyond the current transfer window.”
Both players featured in Aberystwyth’s 4-0 JD Welsh Cup defeat to The New Saints at Park Hall this afternoon.
