Carmarthen Town battled from behind to beat relegation rivals Penybont at the SDM Glass Stadium.

Kalilo Djalo-Embalo netted the match-winning goal on his debut after moving to Richmond Park on Friday.

Elliot Scotcher levelled proceedings in the second-half after former Old Gold midfielder Lewis Harling provided a second-minute lead for the hosts.

With the victory, Carmarthen move out of the drop zone by the virtue of goal difference having been bottom before tonight’s match ball was kicked.

Bont’s wretched home form continues with their last home league victory coming in September.

Carmarthen, on the other hand, registered their first away league victory in five fixtures.

Penybont opened the scoring in the first few minutes as they benefited from a sloppy defensive error.

The resourceful Kane Owen prodded a pass through for Harling to place underneath Lee Idzi.

Ashley Morris was forced into his first noteworthy save as Carmarthen tested him from a free-kick. Elliot Scotcher fouled for the free-kick, whipped his shot at Morris but the Bont keeper was alert enough to push it away.

The Bont almost benefited further from sloppy play. Kane Owen was able to control a heavy ball, though the challenge of the Carmarthen defence saw him strike into the side netting.

Penybont took their slender lead into the break, finding themselves in a similar position to their New Year’s day fixture.

On the hour mark, Georgievsky spurned a great opportunity for a second goal for Rhys Griffiths side as he blazed over the bar from Owen’s through ball.

Kalilo Djalo-Embalo almost had a dream start to his Carmarthen career as he went close to putting the visitors in front in the final quarter of the match.

Djalo-Embalo’s low scooped effort hit the post as the Old Gold stepped it up a gear.

The effort was a sign of how the tide had turned after Penybont had dominated proceedings for a majority of the match.

With ten minutes remaining, Carmarthen did take the lead and it was Djalo-Embalo who would celebrate.

The Guinean-Bissau international had the final touch from an uncleared cross which saw Liam Thomas attack the goal with a header.

Penybont were unable to put any pressure on Idzi in the remaining minutes as they continued their unwanted trait of conceding points from a winning position.
